Summary:
The Volunteer Program Coordinator ensures an exceptionally welcoming, safe, clean, efficient, and supportive environment at North Central Vermont Recovery Center (NCVRC) for guests through the recruitment, mentoring, and scheduling of volunteer support workers.
Primary Responsibilities:

Ensure Volunteer coverage during NCVRC’s open drop-in hours (Monday-Friday 10 AM-4 PM and Saturday 10 AM-2 PM)

Recruit, orient, schedule, lead, and provide ongoing training and evaluations of volunteer support workers

Provide volunteer shift coverage as needed (evenings, weekends, and special events may apply)

Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the facility is maintained throughout each day (Cleanliness includes but is not limited to vacuuming, wiping down surfaces, bathroom cleaning, dusting, and regular sanitization of high-traffic touchpoints. Safety includes but is not limited to securing the premises upon closing and ensuring entry and exit points are safe from hazards and accessible in inclement weather)

Tracking & Reporting of guest traffic and recovery support group attendance

Coordinate and lead monthly meetings for program volunteers

Develop and maintain volunteer education resource materials

Develop and maintain community partnerships for volunteer referrals

Participate in community education and promotion of recovery support services offered by the organization

Coordinate with Vermont Food Bank and local grocers to ensure continued access to our organization’s food donation program

Securely maintain Volunteer personnel files

Collect and maintain programmatic data

Submit monthly report to Board of Directors

Carry out other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
-
Understanding and acceptance of all pathways to recovery from Substance Use Disorder and the aspects of recovery from it
-
Vermont peer Recovery Coach certification preferred, or training will be provided
-
A peer in recovery is preferred. *If in recovery, a minimum of 2 years in recovery is required.

Ability to motivate individuals and teams, provide constructive and supportive feedback, and adapt approaches to match various learning styles and abilities
